Penguin House Wellness Journal
Custom Illustrations & Book Design
For the annual D&AD New Blood Awards, Penguin House posed a unique challenge to creatives: reimagine their merchandise to connect with Gen Z readers. As part of this initiative, I wanted to create a solution that would resonate with younger audiences, introducing them to Penguin's legacy while reflecting their interests and values.
The solution was a limited-edition wellness journal that combines the therapeutic benefits of journaling with the joy of reading. Recognizing Gen Z’s passion for self-care and mental wellness, the journal was designed to not only promote mindfulness but also inspire readers to explore Penguin’s iconic classics to honor the brand’s rich history and make it relatable to a new generation of readers.
To give the journals a distinct and personal touch, I illustrated the journal cover, inspired by vintage illustrated penguin house covers to connect users to the personal act of writing. The pages inside enhance the journaling experience by maintaining a seamless integration with Penguin’s classic branding.
The journal was designed to be limited edition to reflected a commitment to environmental consciousness and invite Gen Z readers to discover the stories behind one of the world’s most iconic publishers.
